Public forums will be held in Christchurch at Tūranga central library, as well as a number of other locations around New Zealand that are the focus of the Inquiry. These will include Selwyn district, Waimakariri district, Hurunui district, Marlborough and Kaikōura districts, and the areas of Edgecumbe and Eketāhuna.

Forums will run in the latter half of May and in June. Specific dates and venues will be advised when confirmed.

The forums will be a chance for you to drop in, talk to the Inquiry face to face, see what people have already been saying to the Inquiry, and tell us if you agree or can add any other views and ideas. You will be able to suggest improvements and changes EQC needs to make for the future.

A programme of topic discussion sessions will be advertised in early May. You’ll be able to register to attend any of these sessions when topics are confirmed. You can email us now if you’d like to pre-register your interest in attending a forum, and we’ll keep in touch.

If you are a current or former EQC staff member, there will also be an opportunity to engage with the Inquiry. You can email us in confidence to register your interest. To assist us, specify that you are a current or former EQC staff member.
